Foaming agent (200 gr).
Foaming agent (200 gr).
The foaming agent for epoxy resins is used to make the resin increase in volume. It is often used in artifacts where a filling effect is desired.
It can often be used for the dough that is used in the union of two shells.
The foaming agent is not dissolved in the resin, so the better the mixing the better the quality of the foam it forms, it is recommended to use an amount ranging from 0.5% to 2%.
It is advisable to do some tests to establish the desired level of foaming, it is also important to use resins with a potlife of at least 60 mm to avoid excessive overheating.
By also mixing a thixotropic agent this will improve the foaming.
Approximate foaming results with the addition of 5% thixotropic agent:
1.00% addition = 300 kg/m³
1.25% addition = 250 kg/m³
1.50% addition = 200 kg/m³
2.00% addition = 175 kg/m³
